Pretty in pink
Man, I feel like a woman … That song could have been my theme song for today. A very good friend of mine was getting married, and I decided to go all out with the girliness for once.
It started with finding a dress. My initial challenge was tan lines from carnival that prevented me from wearing the strapless dress I had planned to. I found a dress that I liked, which surprisingly was floral (large flowers) and had as it’s dominant colour - PINK!! That’s right, I was going to wear pink floral to the wedding.
I knew I had the high heels to go with the dress (not pink tho, more like cream - the other colour in the dress). So the next step was the hair, as I decided to go with the straight look. More to the point I opted to do my nails!! 
Now this is a big deal as my nails almost never get done. Of course I went simple with a French mani-pedi.
The final piece was the makeup which I do from time to time. But basically by the time I was ready to leave my house, I was looking like a girlie-girl. And interestingly, I enjoyed it. It was a different feeling, given that I don’t usually dress up. I am a jeans and slippers kind of girl. But this felt good. And the comments I got were all positive. People generally felt I looked pretty. 
So perhaps I will give this a whirl more often. Not necessarily in pink, but the hair, nails, dress, heels things could be seen a little more often. Sometimes, a girl needs to find her inner diva!!
