Thru a child’s eyes…

The world is a wonderful place when viewed thru a child’s eyes. Today I went to Lime Cay with group of people, one of whom brought her 4 year old daughter, Kimmy. If you ever need to rediscover the joy in life, spend the day with a child. They have no stresses and find such pleasure in the little things we all take for granted as we grow older.

One of my favourite memories from today will be the gleeful laughter of this child on the boat ride over. She sat turned sideways with her hands stuck over the side to feel the spray as the boat pushed thru the water. It was as if she had never felt something so amazing before, even tho I know she does this every time. I found myself following suit just to try and share in her obvious joy. So there we sat, one child and and on child at heart, catching the spray with our hands and laughing our heads off. That’s what I call a good start to the day. :-)

I think we too often forget to look around at the simple pleasures available to us everyday. Sometimes all it takes is a few minutes to enjoy a small moment of childlikeness, to remind ourselves that the world around us is a beautiful wondrous place.
