Words of wisdom

Amazing words to go forward with in the new year:

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented and fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small doesn’t serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so other people won’t feel insecure around you. We are born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we un-consciously give other people permission to do the same. As we feel liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.

Marianne Williamson, “A Return to Love”

(often mistakenly attributed to Nelson Mandela)

See if you can make 2006 your best year ever!!

Love it, particularly “Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure”. Hopefully I can realise that and not be intimidated by challenges that present themself.

It’s our own light that helps us to see the light of others and follow our own path to fulfill our deepest wishes…
Nice blog and great words!
Greetings from Portugal

Small correction — the words are actully from Marianne Williamson’s book “A Return to Love” and were never said by Mandela (which is too bad.)

A Google search of the words and her name yield a correction in this frequent misquote.

Thanks for pointing out the error. I guess I would have caught it if I had checked multiple sources rather than believing the first site I saw.
