Weekend Update

Friday: My baby-sitting adventure was about as peaceful as baby’s night sleep. In terms of my god-daughter who now sleeps the whole night through without waking her parents, this is extremely peaceful. I had nothing to do more than entertain her for a short while in between her dozing. So I missed the wet/smelly diaper excitement. Oh well, guess she was waiting for her mother.

Saturday: I carefully checked my flier: “Anything Goes”, ladies free before 11:30 wearing full white. Yes! One last fling with this beast called carnival. One last party for me to properly say goodbye to the season. I’d been looking forward to this since Sunday since the after-parade-party didn’t live up to much. I pick up my partner-in-crime and we head on down. We get there with minutes to spare before the deadline to find…… nothing. No cars, no music, no people, no nothing. Waaaaaa! Unbeknownst to us, the Kings of Carnival decided to cancel their final party in the series. Guess we missed that announcement. I found out the next day it was cause they wanted to end on a high with the previous Saturday’s event. Phooooey!

Sunday: Dad’s birthday!! So what’s the plan? Well due to some tensions, plans to entertain at home were dropped. So we worked up a day of family fun, so to speak. My day started with me getting up at 7am to bake 2 cakes. We headed for brunch at Alhambra around 10:30, managed to get out of there by 12:45, headed home to pick up the cakes and drove up to Irish Town to some friends’ house for lunch. The post-meal liming went on until nearly 7 when it was getting dark and cold. We missed “Jazz in the Gardens” because we got home late so I still haven’t been to one of those shows.

All in all, a mostly un-eventful weekend.

Right now I am feeling kinda hyper emoticon hyper...

All gone already, girl. My baked goods have a tendency to vanish quickly. Next time.
