Can you…

… find a meaningful, non-weird English sentence that contains the two consecutive words “an apples” without capitalizing “apple” or adding an apostrophe?
Hint: It involves a cliché.

I found this, and thought it was interesting. I will post the answer in a comment after I see what you all come up with.

Right now I am feeling kinda pensive emoticon pensive...

Ok fine: “One cannot use the phrase “an apples” when writing a sentence, it is either “an apple” or “The apples”.” :idea:There’s your sentence:razz:

Nice try, Sim, but I did say it involves a cliché.

ARRRRGGGHH!!!Frustration reaches new heights should be the tagline for this one. I can’t think of any solutions without putting the sentence in the negative or using quotation marks.Let’s not even talk about whatever cliche it’s “supposedly” linked to.

“An apples” is a phrase invented by Bianca to perplex her blog friends, and should not be considered fit for daily use.

It is difficult to make an apples-to-oranges comparison. One would have to compare apples to apples.
