Stop and smell…
It’s a mini-reminder to enjoy life when I spot my little blind dog sitting outside in the middle of the lawn late at night, looking as pleased as can be, doing nothing but seemingly enjoying his other senses: the feel of the grass between his toes, the smell of the dew-dampened soil and the sounds of cars and people passing.
First Lines
The American Book Review has a list of the 100 best first lines from novels. While I haven’t read many of the novels on the list, the lines are fascinating. Some of them are such truisms for life:
