The silence of waiting
went on forever,
the heat was unbearable.
Then finally, it was over.
It was time.
With eyes closed,
my heart in my hands,
all alone I lay.
Ages passed
as my soul was ripped out.
My tears drowned out all.

As you cried out,
I knew I’d be okay.
I fell in love with you that day.
