mario puzo
Though mainly known for writing "The Godfather", Mario Puzo has written other great books. I actually only read "The Godfather" for the first time when it was assigned as the reading material for a class on Leadership at UM. I decided after that to read the rest of Puzo’s novels.
The Godfather (1969)
The themes of power and leadership run right through this amazing story of a family. Definitely worth reading, even or especially if you have seen (and loved) the movies.
Fools Die (1978)
A tale of corruption in the casino world filled with hookers and hustlers. Interesting and exciting.
The Sicilian (1984)
A continuation to “The Godfather”, this book picks up the story of Michael Corleone in exile in Sicily and his planned return to America. This story is full of drama and intrigue, a good read.
The Last Don (1996)
Puzo returns to the Mafia world, but this time with a don trying to get his family out. If you enjoyed "The Godfather", you will like this one.
The Family (2001 - published posthumously)
Fascinating story set in 15th century Italy, tells the tale of a Cardinal and his family and their quest for power. I loved this book, very powerful tale.
The others that I have not yet read are:
- The Dark Arena
- The Fortunate Pilgrim
- The Fourth K
- Omerta
